Musicopia works to bring a vibrant combination of music performance and education to students and communities throughout the Delaware Valley, with a particular focus on geographical areas that lack adequate music programs. With the goal of inspiring a deep love and knowledge of great music, Musicopia's programs promote the transformative powers of music, the value of musical discipline and an appreciation of cultural diversity.

Everyone at Musicopia believes that life and music are inseparable. We envision a community where all students have full access to comprehensive music education and are given the opportunity to learn any instrument of their choosing; where all parents take an active and supportive role in the development of their children's musical skills; and where music is fully embraced as a key component in every school district.



	Musicopia (formerly Strings for Schools), a not-for-profit organization founded in 1974, gives the gift of great music education (classical, jazz, popular, and multicultural music) to pre-schoolers, elementary and secondary school children throughout the greater Philadelphia area. Philadelphia's finest professional musicians perform 45-minute to one-hour concerts and workshops in schools and community centers. Additionally, Musicopia works to give students the "tools of the trade," by providing instrument donations, performance opportunities, and helping Districts rebuild orchestra and band programs.
