James Dell'Orefice
James received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Philadelphia College of
the Performing Arts, and a Master of Music from Combs College. He has
toured extensively as pianist and conductor with Connie Stevens, and the Las
Vegas show group "The Philadelphia Story". He was Musical
Director/Assistant Musical Director of the production of "Waves" at the
Academy of Music in Philadelphia, as well as Dee Dee Sharp Gamble's
production in the 80's. James leads his own orchestra, and teaches piano
techniques and computer techniques relating to music privately. He has
recorded with Bobby Rydel and Al Alberts, and recorded an original album of
his work in 1996, under the name of "Buca Pecuna." James performed with
Strings for Schools from 1985-1990, and has recently returned as leader of
the Pop 'n' String program.
Members of the James D Ensemble are James Dell'Orefice, piano; Janellen Farmer, vocals; Davis Barnett, viola; and Bruce Kaminsky, bass.
