with Minas

Orlando Haddad and Patricia King make up this multi-talented duo (using guitar, piano, progressive synthesizer, bass, drum, sax and voice), introducing students to the culture of Brazil through the Samba, Bossa-nova, and Lambada styles of Brazilian music. They are transported on a wondrous journey from ribbons of "mountainous lush green tresses" into "falling water" punctuated by "tropical creatures and primitive percussive rhythms". It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Minas also has a very festive "Carnival" program. Carnival traditionally takes place during the month of February in Brazil. Orlando will work with teachers before the Carnival program to coordinate activities with the students, such as mask construction. Please call and we will be happy to give you more details!
