Violin Solo - Relationship of African, Indian, European, & American Music

This acclaimed violin soloist and recording artist (a member of the New York String Trio) demonstrates her amazing musical skill with an amplified electronic violin. Classical music from Africa, India, Europe, and America are compared and contrasted with West African and old and new American rhythms of spirituals and hip hop. Students are invited to join in for an improvisation session of rhythm and sound. A very unique experience indeed!
