Classical Journey for Youth
with the Barnett String Quartet
Featuring two violins, viola, and cello, youngsters are introduced to the basics of great
classical music, its major composers, and its development into other musical forms, including
fiddling. Children learn about how the instruments are made, how their unique sounds are
produced, and where the music of Mozart and Beethoven fits into the varied culture of today's
youth. Programs are tailored to the cultural background of each audience -- African American,
Hispanic, Native American. All events are interactive, engaging, and educational for kids and
teachers alike.
