Catch the Vibrations
with the Barnett String Quartet

Featuring two violins, viola, and cello, Mr. Barnett's newest program highlights the relationship between science and music. Through the medium of music, this program helps students to understand the science of sound. After the performance students will be able to: 1) List the instruments in a string quartet, and name at least four of the parts common to all members of the string family 2) Describe the process by which sound is produced in string instruments 3) Relate the role of the bow in making music, and name several of its parts.
